US tuner Hennessey Performance has unveiled its take on the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. It involves a supercharger, more power and a lot of noise.

The HPE600 packs 602bhp and a monstrous 605lb ft of torque from its force-fed 6.2-litre V8, good for a claimed 0-60mph time of 3.9 seconds and a quarter mile in 12 dead.

The ‘charger comes with stainless steel pipes, high-flow fuel injectors, a cold air induction system and a remapped ECU. Elsewhere, the Hennessey/KW suspension has been dropped by 2.5cm, you get 20in alloys and even embroidered headrests.

All in - complete with the carbon-fibre front splitters and side sills - you're looking at the sharp end of $74,950 - or £46k
