The heavyweight champion of the world has got a modified Range Rover

Anthony Joshua modifies the most powerful Range Rover ever

Published: 28 Apr 2017

Anthony Joshua is a big man with a big car. Ahead of the IBF heavyweight champion’s enormous fight with former champ Wladimir Klitschko, he has revealed details of his very special SVO-modified Range Rover.

“I spend a lot of time on the road travelling to Sheffield during my training camps,” said the champ, “so I am incredibly grateful to Land Rover and the SVO team for their assistance.”

Joshua commissioned this bespoke Rangie earlier this year after a visit to SVO’s tech centre in Warwickshire. There, he worked with LR designers and tech specialists to customise the RR to his specific tastes.

As such, it gets a bespoke paintjob named ‘World Champion Graphite’, ‘Anthony Joshua’ inscribed treadplates, a diamond-quilted leather interior finished in red, his name embroidered on the driver’s headrest and signed on a chromed B-pillar, door handles with boxing glove pattern surrounds, and a storage unit in the boot for his training bits and bobs.

Underneath? It's only the most powerful Range Rover ever built. Fitting, really. Joshua’s car is based on the SVAutobiography Dynamic RR, which means it gets the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 from the F-Type, and a raucous 542bhp. 0-60mph? 5.1secs, while top speed, um, tops out at 140mph. More than fast enough for a two-tonne SUV.

Being an SVO-modded car, the Dynamic gets more focused suspension, a lower ride height and monster brakes.

“I had a fantastic experience in specifying this Range Rover,” Joshua explains, “and the level of design detail in the finished vehicle is stunning, from the boxing glove emblems in the door handles to the custom storage unit for my training equipment.”

Whaddya make of it then, internet?
