German car tuner modifies 730bhp inflatable boat

ABT – who do really fast Audi RS6s – has got into the sea. Literally

Published: 25 Jan 2019

“Many of our customers are interested in boats and yachts,” explains the boss of ABT Sportsline, Hans-Jürgen Abt. Welcome then, to the STRIDER 11 ABT SPORT MASTER. Caps lock intentional.

It is, in short, an inflatable low-draft sports boat built by Italian company SACS, and modified by the German tuner. Hence the carbon black tubes, matt black hull and deck, and an ABT carbon look kit including real CRP elements.

Hell, even the engine compartment was modified, there’s an exhaust sound control fitted as standard, along with polished stainless steel elements, bespoke cushions, red and black logos, red and grey upholstery, an ebony cabin veneer and a massive fridge. To name but a few.

As ‘standard’, the STRIDER 11 ABT SPORT MASTER features a pair of 365bhp diesel engines for a 730bhp total. This being an ABT production, it will soon feature more power. Around 790bhp, thanks to an upcoming ABT ‘power’ performance upgrade.

“I had long dreamed of transferring our technical and styling skills from vehicle tuning to a boat,” Abt explains. Just ten of the STRIDER 11 ABT SPORT MASTER boats will be built, at a cost of €397,300, or €417,450 with around €20k worth of options – cockpit courtesy lights, a ‘bow thruster’, upgraded GPS and other stuff.

FANCY IT – sorry – fancy it?
