Edo Lamborghini news - More power, less grip - 2008

Published: 05 Sep 2008

Edo competition - a German-based tuning house that modifies Enzos and MC12s because they aren't quick enough - has turned its attention to the current Lamborghini LP640.

Power is up from 631bhp to 710bhp, thanks mostly to some good ol' fashioned engine tuning (new exhausts, cams, modified cylinder heads) and Edo has fitted a wing and a set of lightweight 19in alloy wheels.

A trick, remote-operated butterfly valve in the exhaust is also an option. Think of it as a volume control for the engine.

Edo is claiming a top speed of 224mph and a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds.

Hilariously, Edo has junked the four-wheel-drive system - presumably because grip is for pansies. The new rear-wheel-drive drivetrain/clutch set-up reduces weight by 40kg and increases laundry bills by 50%.
