Edo Cayenne GTS news - Got to stop - 2008

Published: 18 Nov 2008

The looming recession, we’re told, will cut a brutal swathe of natural selection in the car world, pruning off the weak, bloated and out-of-touch manufacturers, leaving only the strongest and most innovative to survive.

How, then, in such a climate, can German tuning house Edo Competition foist something like this on the world?

This is the Edo Cayenne GTS, a lowered, tuned, loudened, uglified edition of Porsche’s eco-baiter. We don’t really have the words for it.

Thanks to a new catalytic converter and air filters, and a revised ECU, it’s 45bhp more powerful than the standard Cayenne GTS. That means power is up to a nice round 444bhp overall, with the 0-60mph time down to 6.4 seconds and top speed registering 168mph.

We’re not even going to mention the new wheels, front clip, giant brakes and dropped suspension. Apart from just then, but no more.

Edo, this really has to stop. Not that we’re saying we want you to lose your jobs – that 700bhp Enzo was very nice, ta – but we can’t help thinking you’re bringing bad karma on yourselves with stuff like this…
