Could this be the first modified Ferrari 296 GTB?
German tuner gets hold of Ferrari’s hybrid V6 supercar. Creates 888bhp…
We’re still yet to drive Ferrari’s new 296 GTB, but with a combined 819bhp on tap from a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 and a compact electric motor, we’re not sure it’ll be lacking in the speed department.
German tuner DMC clearly reckons some owners will want a bit more, though, because it has already announced a tuning package that unlocks a quite unbelievable 888bhp.
The electric motor has been left well alone, but the V6 gets a new ECU and the turbo boost is turned up slightly to add that extra 69bhp. Apparently 0-62mph should drop from 2.9 seconds to 2.8 seconds. Every tenth counts when supercar bragging rights are at stake, right?
There’s no word on top speed, but DMC will fit a couple of carbon aero parts including that large rear wing and the rather subtle-looking side skirts.
What do we think, Internet?
