The Apocalypse Nirvana is a wildly modified Rivian R1T
In what appears to be a tribute to the Ryder Cup, Apocalypse unveils an EV that takes design inspiration from the 18th fairway
Apocalypse Manufacturing doesn’t do things by halves. It already makes modified trucks called the HellFire, the Juggernaut, the Dark Horse and the Sinister 6 for goodness sake.
And for its first ever EV, the Florida-based firm has continued with the dramatic naming conventions. Welcome to the Apocalypse Nirvana.
Based on the Rivian R1T, the Nirvana gets one of the more bonkers bodykits that we’ve seen in recent years. Seemingly taking inspiration from the Marco Simone Golf Club where the Ryder Cup is currently taking place, there are rather random green bumps and lumps all over the place. Just check out the view out onto the bonnet from inside the cabin. What on earth is going on there?
Anyway, the green coating is apparently a full Kevlar paint job to protect from scratches and rust, and this thing is genuinely designed to go into the rough stuff with a lift kit, ‘dynamic computer-controlled suspension’ and massive 38-inch off-road tyres.
Apocalypse says that this is its “most ambitious project to date”, although it hasn’t touched the Rivian’s standard powertrain. Probably wise given that there’s 835bhp on tap from the quad-motor setup anyway. Still, the Nirvana ends up being a 2.3m wide and 5.4m long pickup that’ll still do around 350 miles on a single charge and 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds.
There’s a new cage added to the pickup bed too as well as tubular side steps and new front and rear skid plates. The price? A cool $150,000 including the donor R1T. Worth it for access to Nirvana?
