ABT’s Lamborghini Urus has a monumental 700bhp
Calling all who thought Lambo’s Super SUV was underpowered
It’s rare that the folks at Lamborghini make an underpowered car. In fact, we’d recommend taking a long hard look at yourself if you step out of anything modern from Sant’Agata and wish for a bit more grunt.
And still, this will never stop the world’s tuners from breaking out their spanners and getting to work. Although with ABT’s new Urus upgrade there hasn’t been a single spanner in sight.
That’s because it has only taken an ECU upgrade for the Germans to extract 700bhp from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. A whole 59bhp more than standard. And perhaps more importantly for the 2.2-tonne monster, torque is also up from a paltry 627lb ft to a much healthier 671lb ft.
Still want more? Check out Manhart’s more extensive effort from earlier this year. Yep, it’s got over 800bhp.
Unlike Manhart though, ABT hasn’t yet altered the looks of the Urus, although you can be sure the bumpers, wheels and exhausts will get the aftermarket treatment at some point. Because how else are you meant to stand out in your giant Lambo.
Like the sound of a power boost? Or are you one of those who thinks 641bhp in an SUV is probably enough? Let us know in the comments below...
