10 cars we’d like to see fitted with Koenigsegg’s 600bhp 3cyl ‘TFG’ engine
Since the 'Tiny Friendly Giant' isn’t going in the Gemera, we’ve plucked out some alternatives

It’s been a few weeks since we discovered Koenigsegg ditched its plan to equip the Gemera hyper saloon with the small but mighty Tiny Friendly Giant (TFG) three-cylinder engine, and we do feel sad. There’s something commendable about an overachiever, and given its 600bhp and 443lb ft output, the TFG is one hell of an apple-polisher.
So, we put forth to you, dear readers, just where you’d like to see CvK’s brilliant invention end up instead, and the answers were typically brilliant. In response, we thought we’d put together a list of 10 potential donor cars to provide you with further food for thought. The first one’s a no-brainer.

That's right, a gigantic RR limo! What better way to kick off this list than with a massive custom Rangie previously owned by the Sultan of Brunei. It’s already packed with space and comfort aplenty, but what its 4.3-litre V8 lacks is serious grunt. The TFG would... remedy that.
Vauxhall VX220
A sub-one-tonne British roadster with over 600bhp? Potentially brilliant, most definitely sketchy. We can’t say for sure what the average destroyed-pants-per-drive ratio would be, but we’d rather let you figure that one out.

If you like the idea of slapping a tiny, overpowered engine into something as massive as that Rangey but want a base that’s a bit more modern, this is the mash-up for you. The LM even has the sci-fi looks to match and would be a proper bit of theatre on the road - literally and figuratively - if cranked up to 600bhp.

No, we’re sure this’ll be totally fine.
Ford Transit Supervan
The original Ford Supervan has not only been found but is also being rebuilt ahead of the Transit’s 60th birthday. What if Mr Koenigsegg stepped in and offered one of his TFG engines instead of that 4.7-litre V8? It might not have quite the same noise, but you’d be laughing/hanging-on-for-dear-life way too much to care.
Volvo 850R
The 850R's already got a bit of motorsport history, and given that both engine and car share the same nationality, we're sensing the greatest tie-up since warm bread met beans. C’mon Volvo, make it happen.

The adorable Toyota Sera is an underrated Japanese gem, despite its 1.5-litre four-pot only putting out around 108bhp. Solution? Give it six times the power and see what happens!
Dacia Jogger
The Jogger does a lot of things right: it’s cheap, it’s spacious, and it’s versatile. It's also about as fast as a blue whale on land. Surely someone, somewhere would be willing to take this project on, for sheer comedy value alone?

Sure, why not.
Saab
Dragon's Den pitch: we're thinking lots of TFG engines, lots of old Saabs, sticky tape, some glue, a bit of hope, and hey presto, cool, not-so-shouty performance car.
