2006 Ford GT - £230,000 to £260,000
World class automotive specialists Silverstone Auctions has unveiled its list of lots for the annual September Sale – with legendary Fords taking the centre stage. But which would you choose?
How about this one – a 2006 Ford GT, which is one of just 27 UK-delivered examples, with less than 6,000 miles on the clock. With a hand built, 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engine and 550bhp, a top speed of 205mph is easy, as is a 0-60mph speed of just 3.5 seconds.
This one is the epitome of Ford GT cool – white with blue stripes – and gets an estimate of over a quarter of a million pounds. The Ford GT has never been not-cool, and this 12-year-old example promises to appreciate in value for a long time coming.

The model up for auction is believed to be one of the first six 4x4 models on the market, finished in Magenta with a grey interior. Just 13,310 miles via one old lady owner (genuinely – an 80 year old who’s hanging up her driving gloves). This Cosworth 4x4 was recently recommissioned by Rally Tec Cosworth Specialists and is estimated to sell between £30,000 and £35,000.
1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Wolf RS500 - £37,000 to £42,000
Only one of ten, this Works DTM team edition Cosworth was created to fill the gap in the left-hand-drive market. With tweaks including a 300bhp engine upgrade, racing pistons, steel twin exit exhausts, lowered sports suspension and gold DTM wheels, the list is extensive. All versions were finished in Moonstone Blue, with this UK import estimated at upwards of £37,000.

This Escort is one of the few remaining RS1600 examples on the road and gets a complete ground-up restoration. Only around 1,100 examples were produced in total, many of which were converted into rally cars, with this model being the one that really put Ford on the map, winning World Championship events from 1968. In Le Mans green with black interior, this lot expects the hammer to hit at £60,000 - £70,000.
