This is the best yacht in the world because it has a Monaco-shaped go-kart circuit on top and we really want it to exist
OK, so it's not really news, but for some reason, this £244 million flight of fancy has resurfaced, making Top Gear long for it to actually exist. SuperYacht is only a design render, but features a go-kart circuit on top mapped out in the shape of Monaco, as well as other key landmarks of the principality. Helicopters, mini submarines, speedboats, swimming pools and jetskis also occur.

Simon Cowell doesn't like his Bugatti Veyron anymore
A Bugatti Veyron once owned by El Trouserino and one-time Top Gear SIARPC leaderboard, erm, leader, Simon Cowell, is coming up for auction next week in Arizona. The black Veyron features just 1,300 miles on the clock and will come with a full one-year extended factory warranty. It probably won't come with a litany of caustic put-downs to lesser cars on the road.

The Qoros 3 saloon is the safest car of 2013
Yeah, we didn't see that one coming either. Euro NCAP reports that the Chinese manufacturer's saloon was the best performer of any car subjected to their crash tests in 2013 and is the first vehicle in China to achieve the highest five star rating under the overall rating scheme. Not an excuse to go barreling into a tree to replicate Clarkson's Hilux test, mind.

Volkswagen has announced it will showcase the Beetle ‘Dune' concept at the Detroit Motor Show. We last saw one of these in 2000, though this one's actually more feasible as it's based on the current production Beetle - underneath there's the 207bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and DSG. Which means if the stars align, you could buy a Beetle Dune. Imagine a range-topping Dune-R.
