Good news! The Dacia Duster is here!

Published: 27 Jun 2012

£8,995. That's how much it'll cost you to tickle James May's fizz gland, because Dacia has announced its high-riding five-seater - a firm favourite of Captain Slow - is now available in the UK for not very much money at all.

It comes in three glamorous trim levels: Access, Ambiance and Lauréate. Kicking off the range is the two-wheel-driver, which is available for £8,995 - to get four-wheel drive you'll need to spend £10,995. Both of which get a hardy 105hp 1.6-litre Renault petrol engine.

Standard exterior features on the five-seater include, 16" steel wheels and roof bars. Inside there's electric front windows, four airbags, height adjustable steering wheel and ISOFIX points on the outer rear seats. An emergency spare wheel is also fitted free-of-charge to 4x4 versions. ABS and Emergency Brake Assist, plus remote central locking, a radio and speaker pre-wiring. Which means no actual speakers. Nice.

One notch up the range is the Ambiance. Prices start at £11,495, rising to £13,495. £2500 extra gets you a 1.5-litre diesel engine, radio/CD with AUX, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and steering-column mounted controls, plus body coloured bumpers, 60/40 split folding rear seats, front fog lights and height adjustable driver's seat.

Feeling flush? You'll want the range-topping £12,995 Lauréate. It comes with 16-inch alloys, air conditioning, electric rear windows, leather steering wheel and trip computer. The roof bars get a satin chrome finish, there are scuff plates, side sills and door handles. Body coloured, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors also make an appearance. Inside, there's piano black detailing on the door handles, centre console surround, steering wheel and door card inserts.

If you fancy more luxury, you'll have to turn to the tuners...
