Jean-Marc Gales is the new boss of Williams Advanced Engineering

Williams Advanced Engineering – the offshoot of Williams’ F1 team and manufacturer of many important things – has a new boss. His name is Jean-Marc Gales, and many of you may recognise him from his role as CEO of Lotus in the post-Dany Bahar era. 

Gales was also previously boss of Peugeot and Citroen whilst at PSA, and has held senior positions at Mercedes and Volkswagen.

Why Williams Advanced Engineering, then? Well, the Oxfordshire-based firm has won many plaudits for its recent electrification work, with it producing the Formula E battery and collaborating with Lotus on the Evija. It has also worked with Singer on the glorious Dynamics and Lightweighting Study, as well as with Nismo, Ginetta, Porsche’s LMP1 programme and Aston Martin. 

Gales is an engineer by profession with a background at many of the big carmakers, so we’re immediately excited to see where he’ll take Williams. Thoughts on the appointment, folks?
