Yikes, this is Mansory’s 868bhp idea of a hybrid saloon
Modified Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance keeps the ridiculous name but gains 1,099lb ft of torque
Mercedes already equips its hybridised AMG GT 4-door with a combined 831bhp and 1,084lb ft of torque from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and electric motor setup, and you’d think that would be sufficient. Clearly Mansory disagrees. Because of course it does.
And so, the *ahem* discreetly modified thing you see above now makes 868bhp and a terrifying 1,099lb ft of torque. We’re told that 0-62mph takes just 2.8 seconds too, whilst the top speed nudges up to 199mph despite the presence of that rather large fixed carbon fibre rear wing.
Being a Mansory, that’s not where the visual modifications end either. There’s a new diffuser and exhaust tips around the rear, as well as lots of little carbon fibre inserts and yellow detailing. Then round the sides you’ve got new skirts and 22-inch wheels, whereas the front is dominated by that massive carbon bonnet with all of its different air intakes. Certainly not subtle, that’s for sure.
Inside you get plenty more carbon fibre and lots more yellow too. There’s much quilted leather, new colourful seatbelts, fresh floormats and a retrimmed steering wheel that can be customised “entirely according to the customer's wishes”.
So, what do we think of Mansory’s take on the (deep breath) Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance?
