The XC40-based Lynk&Co 01 gets more power and a new look
Fresh update brings eighty more horses and an upgraded infotainment stack
Lynk&Co has updated its 01 plug-in hybrid SUV. The XC40-based SUV - that kinda looks like a Cayenne munching on a Camaro - now has more power and better entertainment tech.
On the outside, there’s a curvier front end with a glossy black grille, a fresh set of wheels and new tail lights. The powertrain’s been reconfigured too, so the 2.0-litre petrol engine and plug-in hybrid set-up bring over eighty more horses to the parade. Thusly, power has jumped from 188bhp to 276bhp. Lynk&Co tells us it's also worked on sharper acceleration and better handling.
In terms of fuel economy, it reckons the car will use less than a full litre of juice to cover 62 miles, plus, there’s also 46 miles of pure-electric driving from the 17.6kWh battery.
Inside, the electrical architecture has been completely overhauled, integrating a new central processing unit and a fancy new Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Apparently, that means the Android-based 15.4in touchscreen is quicker to respond. The cabin redesign also introduces steering wheel controls for the first time.
