How would you spec your perfect BMW M2?
Manual or auto? Zandvoort Blue or Toronto Red? Answers here please…
So, you’ve read all about the new BMW M2 and you’ve studied our drive of the prototype in great detail. All that’s left to do then is to have a play on BMW’s configurator. Thankfully, it’s already live…
Yep, click these blue words to go ahead and create your ideal M2. And then it’s probably worth knocking up the spec of your nightmares too, just for the fun of it.
There are some strong options of course, the most important one being the ability to swap out the eight-speed auto ‘box for a proper six-speed manual. Although the fact that the manual is £1,090 more expensive is a bit of a kick in the teeth. Still, spec it and you won’t regret it.
Colours include the standard white, black and grey (boring), but there’s also Zandvoort Blue and Toronto Red to spice things up a bit. There are only two wheel options too, but you do get four choices of upholstery including a lovely brown leather that we’d absolutely go for. Sadly in the UK you can only team it with carbon fibre interior trim, whereas other markets get the option of simple piano black or aluminium.
Oh, and even though the new M2 gets a huge amount of kit as standard, there are still the classic option pack boxes to tick. Here it’s £695 for the M2 Comfort Package (heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging etc), £2,095 for the M Drivers’ Pack (raised top speed) and £6,345 for the M Race Track Package. The latter adds the aforementioned raised top speed and pairs it with carbon fibre bucket seats.
Come on then Internet, what would you go for?
