Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari: official

Published: 03 Aug 2010

If you're of the opinion a coming together of Ferrari and Fiat will be somewhat magnificent, you might be wrong.

This is the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari, which is coming to the UK in RHD, and which is too long for us to repeat again. Henceforth it shall be referred to as Angry500.

Angry500 is a limited edition model dressed with Ferrari-inspired stuff such as carbon mirrors, front air intakes, red paint and some grey wheels. Rather like an aggressive gimp running naked through a Ferrari shop.

Angry500 gets a heavily spanked version of the turbo'd 1.4-litre engine, which now produces 180bhp and a ‘Record Monza' dual mode exhaust, making it the angriest and shoutiest 500 yet. The 0-62mph dash takes just 7s and it will top out at 140mph.

At this point, you're probably wondering how much is this combination of spunky supermini and Italian exotica is going to cost.

£29,600. You don't need us to tell you for that price you can buy a 306bhp BMW 135i M Sport. Or save yourself a couple of grand and get a 300bhp Ford Focus RS. Or a... you get the picture.

Our advice? Get a standard Abarth 500 esseesse (£16k) and buy a Ferrari hat.
