Watch: Le Mans driver wrestles $25,000,000 Cobra at Goodwood

Ride on board with Nic Minassian as he gets lairy in a rather lovely Daytona Cobra. In the wet

Nic Minassian is a Le Mans driver who is a) really rather good, and b) really rather brave. Shelby’s Daytona Cobra is one of six gorgeous cars to have ever existed, built in the mid 1960s to take on GT racing. This particular one is worth 25 million bucks.

Put the pair of them together on a wet Goodwood track, and what you get is just over two minutes of lairy excellence.

We therefore implore you to take a few moments of your day and watch a fully lit racing driver tackle a 4.7-litre, V8-engined rare gem around a very tight track. In the wet. Just watch Nic's steering inputs throughout the course of the video and try not to squeal.

The video was shot at the end of last month; a test day ahead of the Goodwood Revival this weekend, where – and you won’t quite believe this – all six Daytona Cobras ever built will be displayed in a special paddock.

It’s to mark the 50th anniversary of the Cobra Coupe, 50 years since it debuted as one of the world’s most iconic GT racing cars, itself set up to take on the mighty Ferrari 250 GTO.

So at Goodwood this weekend, two of the Daytonas will race in the RAC Tourist Trophy, with all six doing demo runs over the three-day festival.
