Ever wanted to dress up as a Porsche Macan in Overwatch 2? Now you can

Thanks again, brand collabs

Published: 12 Mar 2024

As if Overwatch 2 needed to get any more fast-paced, there’s a content drop from Porsche on the way featuring items inspired by the Macan.

So if you’ve always wanted to blow the likes of Roadhog and Cassidy to smithereens while dressed as an all-electric luxury SUV, your strangely specific wish is Porsche’s command.

Overwatch 2’s a top-tier hero shooter, and although it’s taken flak for a pivot towards a more aggressive, microtransaction-laden payment model since the first game, it’s got some stellar class-based PvP action as a counterbalance.

This newly announced collab contains multiple new cosmetic items including one new legendary skin for everybody’s favourite retired gamer and mech enthusiast, D.Va. Inspired by the lines of Porsche’s latest EV, the skin mimics the tail light design and features Porsche lettering at the back of her mech.

If the virtual version isn’t enough to scratch your itch, you can visit a 7ft physical model of the skin at Porsche Full Service installation at Brazos Hall at 204 E. 4th St. on 12 March. Apparently it’s due to pop up at more events through the year, too.

Here’s what Porsche’s head of brand management and partnerships Deniz Keskin has to say about the, er, unusual collaboration: “Overwatch 2 offers a sophisticated backstory, and players can easily identify with the characters. These were important building blocks for us to create a brand collaboration with Blizzard, and tell a story inspired by the new all-electric Macan.”

Personally, we’re holding out for the Lamborghini Mercy-elago skin.
