Gallery: Ford USA’s picture archive

Dust off those photo albums stuffed in your attic and no doubt you'll rekindle some fond memories: an early birthday, your first pair of baby dungarees, maybe even your first go-kart.

Ford USA has done the same thing. Only its history stretches back 108 years, and it has around 16,000 boxes, 75 file cabinets and hundreds of CDs with quality picture gems at its archive in Michigan. And now, they're going on sale for the first time.

Rick Weedn of Ford Images told TopGear.com: "We thought it would be really cool for Ford lovers to be able to go to one global website to view and purchase images of every model made since Ford began."

The archive covers everything from concepts, product development and motorsports, and Ford is adding hundreds of new pics every week. TopGear.com asked very nicely for a sneak peek at what's on offer in this astonishing gallery...
