Jaguar Land Rover has introduced Alexa to its infotainment systems
‘Alexa, plan a route to the farm shop.’ ‘Alexa, where’s the nearest place to buy tweed?’
Jaguar Land Rover has announced that every car it has ever sold with a Pivi Pro or Touch Pro infotainment system in the UK and US will now have Amazon Alexa voice control capabilities. Good luck to those with strong accents that own F-Type convertibles.
JLR says that more than 200,000 existing owners will be able to install an over-the-air update to access Alexa, and that once downloaded it’ll be able to control your sat nav, music choices, calendars and more.
If you’ve got an Alexa in your house already, you’ll also be able to ask it how much range you’ve got in your I-Pace and whether you’ve locked your car doors. This is the future, people. Best get used to it…
