Mazda's taking a snazzy new crossover to the Frankfurt show
And this is what it will look like. Kind of. Is there room for yet another soft-roader?
Prepare to feel thoroughly teased, for this is Mazda’s first hint at the snazzy new car it’s taking to the Frankfurt motor show, named Koeru.
We don’t always yield to teaser sketches, but in this case we’re intrigued. Partly because the Koeru is described as a ‘crossover SUV concept’ – and Mazda already has cars in that market, the little CX-3 and less little CX-5 – so we’re unsure where this will slot in. A big Discovery rival? A BMW X4-like crossover-coupe thing?
Our interest has also been piqued, though, because it looks damn good for a car so practically natured. Just like the rest of Mazda’s range, really.
Mazda has revealed scant other details, save for the Koeru just being a concept for now, and its power being producing by one of its thrifty but revvy Skyactiv engines.
We imagine it'll be pretty decent. But can the already rather saturated crossover market accomodate yet another model?
