Whoopsie: Charles Leclerc has crashed in Niki Lauda’s old Ferrari F1 car
Leclerc spins in Lauda’s Ferrari during a display of classics around his home streets. Ouchy
[Sharp intake of breath] That’s… not gonna buff out. Racing around his home streets as part of a historic display this past weekend, current Formula One championship leader and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc crashed while piloting Niki Lauda’s old Ferrari.
As whoopsies go, one suspects it's a painful one.
It was at the 2022 Monaco Historic event, and Leclerc was in the hotseat racing Lauda’s old Ferrari 312B3 when a brake problem meant he spun the historic motor into the barriers at Rascasse.
“When you thought you already had all the bad luck of the world in Monaco and you lose the brakes into Rascasse with one of the most iconic historical Ferrari Formula 1 car,” he later tweeted. Ouchy.
Chin up, 'Chuck' - you're still leading the 2022 F1 championship.
