The W Series has teamed up with F1 to host races in the USA and Mexico

All-female championship to host a double header at the American and Mexican Grands Prix

Published: 16 Jan 2020

The W Series will host two new races in the USA and Mexico this season, with both taking place on the same weekend as their respective Formula 1 Grands Prix.

“We at W Series are absolutely delighted that, in only our second season, our championship has been welcomed by Formula 1, and we’re utterly thrilled that the final two races of the 2020 W Series season will therefore take place as part of the Formula 1 platform,” said the championship’s CEO Catherine Bond Muir.

“Our two all-new races will follow six races on the DTM platform, making a very varied, extremely exciting and truly international eight-race championship, in eight countries across the globe. The 2020 season kicks off in St Petersburg, Russia on 30 May, finishing with a same-week, championship-deciding ‘double header’ at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin on 24 October, and the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City on the 31st.
