A UK company is now offering Jordan F1 driving experiences
Now’s your chance to drive Takuma Sato’s 2002 EJ12
We’ve all been guilty of criticising a Formula One driver with the immortal words ‘my nan could do a better job than you’, haven’t we?
Well, now’s the time to test that theory, because TrackDays.co.uk is now offering your nan the opportunity to drive a Jordan EJ12 F1 car that was first piloted by Takuma Sato back in 2002.
Fantastic looking thing, isn’t it? The DHL-liveried EJ12 used an 800bhp+ Honda V10 in period, but that engine has since been replaced with a Judd 3.0-litre unit. It still revs to 10,500rpm and produces 600bhp though. Crikey.
The Jordan is now situated at Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire and there are three different experiences for customers to choose from. They range from 10 to 30 laps in the F1 car and all feature practice laps in an F1000 single seater before the main event.
The full ‘Grand Prix Experience’ has caught our eye though, mainly because the day includes something called the ‘F1 launching session’. That apparently includes burnout training and a full race start. Nice.
Prices start from £999 for the basic drive experience and rise to £3,750 for the Grand Prix day. Keen, Internet?
