This Renault F1 car would look great in your living room
Currently up for auction, this static build is a 2016 chassis with a 2019 livery
We’ve all got some form of art decorating our houses, haven’t we? Some even have motoring or motorsport-related pieces adorning walls and shelves. If that’s you, then here’s your chance to grab what people much more fashionable than us would call a ‘statement piece’.
Essentially, it’s a full-size Renault F1 car with the engine internals removed and a section of the body cut away to put the hybrid power unit on display.
It’s up for auction right now via F1 Authentics, and the lucky winner will end up with quite the talking point if they stick it in the middle of their living room.
This thing is actually a 2016 R.S.16 chassis cloaked in Renault’s 2019 livery and was built by Renault using original race parts. Yep, pretty much everything on this car has been used in a race. The adjustable front wing still moves too. Very cool.
At the time of writing the bid stands at just £25,200, so you could probably break it for parts and make a profit. Get on it, arty people…
