Pic of the day: Valtteri Bottas drifts a Ford Falcon ute

Who’s your favourite current F1 driver, and why isn’t it Valtteri Bottas? Seriously though, the mullet-sporting Sauber driver has really come into his own over the last few years and it often seems like he has more personality than the rest of the grid put together. 

And although he may have limped home in 14th at the Australian GP on Sunday, we get the sense that the Finn enjoyed his short stopover in his second country…

We can bet you’ve already seen the brilliant Uber Australia advert starring Bottas and a Holden ute (if you haven’t, search for it on your preferred social media platform right away), but that wasn’t the only dinky pickup that Valtteri found himself driving last week. 

You see, Sauber has now released a YouTube video and these excellent images of Bottas and Zhou Guanyu doing many burnouts and learning to drift at Calder Park Raceway just outside Melbourne. Of course Valtteri would pick a circa-600bhp AU Falcon ute as his weapon of choice.

The mullet, the ‘tache and the tyre-smoking ute. Does it get any cooler than this in F1 these days?
