Listen to the tap that sounds like an F1 car
Are you grieving for the V10 era? Cue the waterworks. Literally
When F1 introduced V6 hybrid engines in 2014, it was hoped that the new power units would be admired for their groundbreaking levels of efficiency. Instead, they have been relentlessly mocked for the noise that they make; something of a mosquito-esque whine that is both quieter and less tuneful than the V8s they replaced.
The sport’s bosses promised that things would get better this year thanks to small tweaks in the regulations, but any improvements have barely been noticeable.
This is especially frustrating given that the bathroom sink in the video above appears to have made a better job of sounding like a race car.
Posted nearly a year ago, the person turning the tap has masterfully replicated the noise of an engine revving and shifting through the gears.
F1 needs to hire some plumbers, stat.
