The Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed
The coronavirus outbreak has put a stop to April's F1 race in China
In an official statement that you can read in full here, Formula 1 has confirmed that the 2020 Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed.
The race was scheduled to take place on 19 April, but due to the recent coronavirus outbreak a postponement request was submitted by the promoter – Juss Sports Group.
With the World Health Organisation declaring the outbreak as a global health emergency, F1 has said it has taken the decision in order to “ensure the health and safety of the travelling staff, championship participants and fans”.
There has been no confirmation so far as to if or when the race will be rescheduled.
Last week, Formula E also announced that it had cancelled the Chinese round of its championship.
