SRT reveals new Viper GT3-R
If you've been following our intrepid reporter at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, you might well have spotted SRT Motorsport's Viper GTS-R. This isn't it. This is something better. Because you can pick up the telephone and actually swap a large bag of pounds for one, then race it in FIA GT3, the Pirelli World Challenge GT, NARRA, SCCA/NASA, ADAC GT Cup, Arena Essex National Bangers, err, Rainbow Road... the list goes on.
Yep, this is an out-of-the-box, ready-to-race V10 Viper from SRT in full GT3 specs. To prep it for the track, SRT has added a full aero package to the chassis, there's an Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters, six-piston front brake calipers with four-piston rears, superlight alloys, and a multi-disc race clutch. Power ‘s also been boosted from 640 hp and 600 lb ft to 680 hp and 640 lb ft. Yummers.
Add the boost in power to the car's weight loss (exact numbers are curiously scarce), and we can only imagine the driving experience is a better than a series of small scale collisions with someone incredibly attractive.
Who wants one?
