This is Icon’s V8-powered manual Bronco, and it’s 446bhp of antique goodness
Much suede leather accompanies this Coyote V8-powered classic. Though it’s got a £215,000 price tag attached
If the new Ford Bronco feels a bit too new for your liking, Icon has just released a restomod of the original from 1975… called the ‘New School’, ironically. And, traditionalists prepare: it adopts the 5.0-litre ‘Coyote’ V8 from a Ford Mustang.
That means it sends 446bhp and likely as much torque as Iron Man after a few pints to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The mechanical toy box continues with Brembo stoppers and ARB locking differentials at both axles, while Goodrich all-terrain ‘K02’ tyres squat at each corner.
They’re wrapped around a set of 18in aluminium alloys with floating centre caps, which draws your attention to just how high off the ground the body sits on that meaty coilover suspension setup. Oh, you’ll also notice the military green satin wrap is accentuated by black trims which run the length of the exterior.
The cabin has seen just as much attention applied, with standout features including Alcantara-fied headliners and suede leather upholstery, while bouts of carbon fibre can be seen furnishing bits of the dashboard.
Pricing for Icon’s New School Bronco starts at £215,000 - though expect this to increase a fair amount depending on how many boxes you tick on the options list.
