The hybrid Vauxhall Mokka is here, and prices start from £25,320
Teeny electric battery, teeny petrol engine, teeny e-range: Vauxhall's latest hybrid is here for your perusal
Be still thine beating hearts: the Vauxhall Mokka Hybrid has landed, and its 48V hybrid setup means it'll be good for roaming city streets for... just over half a mile on pure electric power.
It’s the same tiny 0.89kWh battery, the same 134bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, and the same dual-clutch six-speed auto ‘box you'll find in the Corsa and Astra, allowing for a 0-62mph sprint of 9.1s. That, says Vauxhall, is "0.1 seconds faster than the equivalent petrol model". Think of all the time you'll save! You'll emit less, naturally, this Mokka Hybrid cutting emissions by 18g/km of CO2 versus a non-electric Mokka.
There are three trim levels available: an exclusive-to-the-Mokka 'Griffin' trim which comes in at £25,320 and gets 17in alloys, privacy glass in the rear windows and a contrast roof, among other things, a Mokka GS for £30,810 (bigger wheels, sportier trim, more tech) and the range-topping Ultimate trim weighing in at £34,115. That one gets extras like adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, an Alcantara interior finish and a massaging driver’s seat.
We’re told the forthcoming Frontera and revamped Grandland will also get the hybrid treatment in due course. Want to know what the Mokka's like to drive? Click here for the full TG review.
