The four-year-old Citroen Ami has been given a fresh look, and now it smiles
Yeah, really. The quadricycle has had a tackle with a make-up counter and found the contour brush and mascara
The 2025 Citroen Ami is here. And while the dimensions of the cutesy quadricycle haven’t changed, the look of it has. The baby non-car is growing up, meaning it’s gone from goofy to happy. Quite literally.
The front fascia moulding now incorporates a ‘smile’ under two headlights – now outlined in black – that have been placed higher. The side lights have shifted down, and with the new badge sitting in the middle of the sharper, sloped front end, the result is a more humanised look.
Decorated wheel hubs embellished with coloured squares not only give the little thing bumper protection, we’re told, but also add to the toy-car appearance of the Ami. It’s all very wholesome, very friendly and uniquely accessible.
There are apparently design cues dating back to the 2CV – of which the Ami is a “legitimate descendant”, says Citroen. The colourful side panel graphics and moulded chevron pattern definitely give the second-gen Ami a certain je-ne-sais-quoi over its predecessor.
Citroen doesn’t mention much about changes in the cabin, so we presume things remain as is. That is, a simple affair of three dash buttons and two very lightweight plastic seats reminiscent of a budget airline.
Elsewhere, it has also revealed the funky Ami Buggy Vision concept. Complete with LED roof lights, yellow-tinted headlights and chunky tyres that can cope with sandy terrain, it's targeted at beachgoers. There’s even a hook to transport a kite surf.
The Buggy is one of a number of different Ami concepts Citroen is showcasing – one ‘My Ami For All’ is an adapted version of the quadricycle for drivers with reduced mobility, with a place to stow a wheelchair. A definitive upgrade from a mobility scooter for sure.
