DMC’s ‘Orso’ is a 777bhp carbon-winged 488

If Ferrari’s two-seat supercar isn’t powerful or wingy enough for you, have a look at this

Published: 01 Aug 2016

A tuning company called DMC has joined the likes of Mansory and Novitec Rosso by modifying Ferrari’s turbocharged, 661bhp 488 GTB. How? More power, and much, much more wing.

As the Forza-esque renderings show, that carbon aero on the back is quite substantial. As are the carbon side skirts and new front chin spoiler.

The rear wing is manually adjustable and can be set to three different positions; cruise, fun and track mode. The front and side dive planes look like they’ll have your ankles for breakfast but we’re assured it’s passed all the right checks and balances to be used on the road. There’s also a new carbon diffuser and carbon taillight surrounds. Carbontastic.

DMC has also gone to work on the engine, opening the taps and raising the power output to 777hp and 638 lb-ft of torque. Quite a jump from the standard car’s 661bhp, considering they’ve just tickled the ECU and added a new exhaust.

And this is just the first ‘Stage 1’ kit. Prepare for bigger numbers when they properly go to work and do some surgery on that blown V8. One thing’s for sure: we can’t wait to see the size of the wing needed to counterbalance it.
