This company will build you a cheap, lightweight, two-seater turnkey supercar

What would *you* build using Dash’s two-seat monocoque?

A British engineering company with links to Formula One has announced a new division “dedicated to end-to-end full vehicle programmes”. Which, in HumanSpeak, means: some very clever people will build you an entire supercar.

Not for free, of course, but not for an exorbitant amount, either. It’s the work of newly-formed Dash Bespoke – part of Dash – and isn’t exorbitant because each supercar, or hypercar, or racing car, will be spun off the company’s TR01 carbon fibre monocoque.

That’s the thing we first told you about back in 2023. It’s a two-seater configuration that’s stiff, cheap, weighs just 48kg and can house anything from V8 powerhouses to a load of batteries.

Now, Dash Bespoke’s new job is to build the rest of the car around this monocoque. It’s done just that for a client, and we’ll see DB’s first ever full car at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed.

It’s called ‘SlipStream’ (yes, bit on the nose but we’ll take it), and while we don’t know what it’ll look like on top, these pics show what it'll look like underneath. So it's a mid-engined supercar wearing a V8 from New Zealand’s Hartley (who did the V12 for the Nilu27), with bespoke carbon fibre subframes, light alloy suspension components, and Nitron dampers, to name just four things.

You of course, can spec anything you want within the confines of this stiff, lightweight TR01 chassis, making it easier to get your limited edition, two-seater super-hyper-toy off the ground. Dash boss Tim Robathan acknowledged the pitfalls associated with trying to engineer and manufacture something like this from scratch.

“For many brands and visionaries, these obstacles can halt progress and project viability,” he said. “That is why we have established Dash Bespoke.

“Leveraging our proven TR01 monocoque and extensive in-house engineering expertise, we can manage projects from end to end,” he added.

We’ll show you the finished car as soon as it’s ready, so in the meantime, why not configure your ideal super-hyper-toy using the TR01 chassis, below. Starter for ten: nat-asp mid-mounted V6, rear-wheel-drive, six-speed manual, passive dampers, Alfa SZ-alike body.
