Black Friday special: the cheapest cars on sale in the UK
Want a four-wheel motorised vehicle for as little cash as possible? Step this way
![](/sites/default/files/news-listicle/image/2015/09/dacia.jpg?w=424&h=239)
If you want to achieve (admittedly basic) personal four-wheeled transport in exchange for small amounts of money, there has never been a better time to be alive. In celebration of the bargaintastic bonanza that is Black Friday, we've corralled together a countdown of very cheapest cars on sale in the UK right now, and they prove you can get really quite a decent amount of Stuff for a very sensible amount of cash. Wheels, metal, seats, sometimes even a steering wheel, all yours for less than the price of a posh watch.
No longer is cheapness an excuse for terribleness, either. Many of the cars on the coming slides are rather excellent. Others are as terrible as you'd expect, and are best avoided unless you are actively threated with physical violence for not buying one.
Before you start calling us out, please note these prices do not take into account any 'special deal' you might be able to negotiate with your dealer by means unspecified. These are just some very cheap, often very good cars which cost less than a one-way, first class flight to Sydney. Or 25,000 packets of custard creams. Which one would you choose?

From £9,265
The driving school special. Stall at every opportunity for maximum effect. New version is rather better than the last one.
19. Mitsubishi Mirage
From £9,054
Cheap. And very much not one of our favourite city cars, to put it mildly...

From £8,999
Not particularly swift, despite what its name suggests. But really quite good, especially in (admittedly not-so-cheap) Swift Sport flavour.
17. Ford Ka
From £8,945
Based on the same platform as the Fiat 500. Only less charismatic. And less appealling to north London estate agents.
16. Hyundai i10
From £8,895
We like the i10. And you can buy two for the price of a normal car, which is a bonus.
15. Chevrolet Spark
From £8,875
Spark by name, literally none by nature. Still better than the Aveo...

From £8,870
Genuinely brilliant and not in the least bit embarassing. Honest.
13. Toyota Aygo
From £8,845
Looks cross, doesn't it? Most intimidating of all city cars. Which is a bit like saying a teddy bear is the most intimidating of all the stuffed animals...

From £8,399
Surprisingly good. All six owners are thrilled, we bet.
11. Seat Mii
From £8,355
Like the Up, only cheaper. And therefore, by the standards of this countdown at least, better.
10. Peugeot 108
From £8,345
Same as the Aygo underneath. About as good, which is 'quite'.
9. Kia Picanto
From £8,345
Many years of warranty, and legitimately rather good. Kia means business.
8. Citroen C1
From £8,345
Swaps Aygo's anger for wide-eyed surprise. Slightly cheaper. Slightly more gormless.
7. Skoda Citigo
From £8,275
Like the Mii. Which is like the Up. Therefore excellent.
6. Vauxhall Viva
From £7,999
Remember the 70s? Vauxhall does. Mercifully, new Viva not available in brown.
5. Nissan Micra
From £7,999
Designed for emerging markets and (not very successfully) tarted up for Europe. Less good than the car it replaced.
4. Suzuki Celerio
From £6,999
Presumably named for an Italian vegetable, but actually quite likeable. More than the old Alto, anyway...
3. Dacia Logan
From £6,995
Sandero with a boot. More litreage than a Merc C-Class Estate. Really. The ultimate space-for-yer-buck option.
2. Renault Twizy
From £6,590
Twizy is a 'car' in the loosest sense. Despite absence of erm, doors and other such car niceties, still doesn't top the cheap-list...
1. Dacia Sandero
From £5,995
GOOD NEWS! Sandero can still be had for pennies on the pound. OK, it's not the most sophisticated offering, but if you want a full-size, functioning car for as little cash as possible, the Sandero remains unbeaten.
