Yes, the Tesla Model 3 will get 'Ludicrous' Mode

Musk confirms on Twitter that baby electric saloon will get fast option

Published: 03 May 2016

Last month, Elon Musk proudly unveiled his affordable baby electric saloon, the Tesla Model 3. It was already fast, but now we have confirmation that it'll get even faster.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Musk confirmed the Model 3 would feature a 'Ludicrous' Mode option to make it, well, ludicrously quick.

While there's been no Tesla Model 3 test drive yet, we're assured the 'standard' Model 3 is no slouch. Straight out of the blocks, it'll already do 0-60mph in less than six seconds. With Ludicrous Mode engaged, that number will drop significantly...

Details at this point have yet to be revealed, but on the Model S, the Ludicrous option drops the 0-60mph time to just 2.8 seconds (making it one of the world's fastest accelerating cars), and features 532bhp on the rear axle and 259bhp on the front via a dual-electric-motor setup. This Model S P90D also gets 713lb ft of torque and a top speed of 155mph. Plenty.

Any prospective Model 3 buyers out there interested?
