The VW ID. Buzz 1st Edition costs £62,995
VW’s new electric bus will come in *slightly* cheaper versions, too
Volkswagen has revealed prices for its cool new electric bus – the ID. Buzz – and they are thus...
You can choose from three trim levels, from the entry-level ‘Life’ model that starts at £57,115, through the mid-range ‘Style’ version that costs £61,915, right up to the current range-topping ‘1st Edition’. That’ll set you back £62,995.
Along with a 77kWh battery and a 200bhp rear-mounted electric motor, you also get such fashionable things as doors, seats, a steering wheel, a sprinkle of cachet and many other standard-fit items. All Buzz models get VW's now infamous digital cockpit, a two-tone paint option, eight USBs – including three USB-C ports – and voice control.
The base-spec Buzz comes with LED headlights, a heated windscreen, 'removable storage' and a 10in touchscreen featuring ‘Discover Pro’ sat nav.
‘Style’ gets LED matrix headlights instead, along with adaptive interior ambient lighting and a full-width lightbar out back.
The 1st Edition meanwhile gets everything, including “a full range of safety, security and convenience” features, an even bigger 12in touchscreen, better sat nav, comfort seats and, somewhat comically for a van, 21in alloys.
Outside of all the toys costing extra monies, you get a range of up to 258 miles and the honour of driving Top Gear’s electric car of the year. Click here to read why we gave it the top spot in this year’s honours.
