Summer sun? The Abarth 500e Cabrio will cost you £37,195 in the UK
Abarth reveals pricing details for the full EV hot hatch range. Cabrio is not cheap
Back in March, Abarth announced that the fully-loaded ‘Scorpionissima’ launch edition of its all-electric hot hatch would cost a hefty £38,695 on our shores. Yikes.
Not to worry though, we thought, assuming that when the standard car came along it would reduce the price of entry to the 149bhp party. And it has. But not by much.
Particularly if you want a ragtop roof above your head, because Abarth has now confirmed that the 500e Cabrio will start at £37,195. Ouch. And that’s just for the entry-level car, if you want to upgrade to the 500e Turismo Cabrio then that’ll start at £41,195.
Prices for the hard-topped hatch will kick off at £34,195, while the Turismo spec of that will start at £38,195. The latter brings 18-inch wheels over the usual 17-inch items, as well as an Alcantara-filled interior, heated seats, wireless phone charging and some extra techy bits.
All UK cars will get the controversial ‘Abarth Sound Generator’ – essentially a big external speaker that plays old Abarth petrol engine noises – and a JBL internal audio system as standard.
So, Abarth’s version of the 500e Cabrio will not be a cheap car, but then it does look like it’ll have the sporty electric convertible market to itself until the MG Cyberster arrives in the summer of 2024. Anyone tempted?
