Stellantis wants to be EV-only in Europe by 2030

Stellantis – the motoring superpower made up of 14 different carmakers – has announced that EVs will account for 100 per cent of its European sales by 2030, with 50 per cent of US-based sales being all-electric by the same deadline. 

The commitment was made by boss Carlos Tavares in Stellantis’ latest BIG PLAN, which it seems to be referring to as ‘Dare Forward 2030’. Interesting.

You might remember that last year the group confirmed that Vauxhall/Opel would be making nothing but EVs by 2028, and that Abarth would be all-electric by 2024. Presumably this latest announcement doesn’t supersede those. Stellantis now says it’ll have “more than 75 BEVs” on sale by 2030 and that it’ll be selling five million of the things each year by then too. 

At the Dare Forward 2030 press conference in Amsterdam, Tavares also announced plans for the company to become net zero by 2038, with a 50 per cent reduction in its environmental impact by the end of this decade. 

Oh, and it unveiled the first ever all-electric Jeep which you can see by clicking these blue words. That came alongside an announcement that there will be a “specific US product offensive” with more than 25 brand new EVs by that 2030 deadline. Ready for it, America?
