The Smart #3 will start from £32,950 and top out at £45,450 for the Brabus version
Arriving early 2024, there'll be five trim grades and various performance and range outputs
Smart has announced pricing for its forthcoming all-electric #3 SUV coupe, which starts at £32,950 for the entry-level ‘Pro’ and stretches to £45,450 for the ‘BRABUS’ version. Yes, there will indeed be some fettling from those German chaps who despise standard cars.
Completing the #3 lineup is the ‘Pro+’ (£36,950), ‘Premium’ (£39,950) and limited ‘25th Anniversary’ edition (£40,950), with UK sales expected to begin in early 2024. Can you believe that’s less than four weeks away? Nope, neither can we. Anyway.
The #3 will become the second model released into the reworked Smart range and pairs the bold new styling direction with an economically packaged interior that’s stuffed with tech and gadgetry.
That includes the ‘Pilot Assist’ suite - which offers numerous safety measures such as ‘Automatic Parking Assist’ and ‘Highway Assistant’ - and is toggled using a 12.8-inch infotainment unit. Smart says this screen is ‘Full HD’, so expect a playback quality of 360p. Don’t worry, if this does end up happening we’re sure an over-the-air update will fix it.
The performance also remains competitive. Depending on the trim level chosen, customers can benefit from a power band that ranges between 268 and 422bhp, resulting in a 3.7 to 5.8-second 0-60mph time. Meanwhile, a full charge is claimed to yield between 202 and 283 miles, so the Smart #3 certainly has the qualities to worry rivals such as the Volkswagen ID.5. On paper, at least.
