Pre-orders for the new Jeep Avenger are OPEN, priced from £36,500
Yup, fresh from winning ECOTY 2023, the Jeep Avenger 1st Edition is here to launch the range
Less than a week after being crowned European Car of the Year 2023 by a panel of 59 motoring journalists, pre-orders for the new Jeep Avenger are now being taken. Roll up, roll up!
You’ll need £36,500 to secure your own, limited-run 1st Edition Avenger, which, lest we forget, offers 248 miles of range from a 51kWh battery.
Meanwhile the electric motor is good for 154bhp and 192lb ft for 0-62mph in nine seconds flat, and 100kW charging enables a 0-80 per cent charge in just over half an hour.
1st Edition cars are available in Sun, Graphite and Volcano colours (yellow, grey or black to us non-marketing folk), with an all-black roof, privacy glass and 18in alloy wheels all standard.
Also included are a 10.25in touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, DAB radio, 360-degree parking sensors, a reversing camera, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rain-sensing wipers, active cruise control and blind-spot monitoring, among other things.
No kitchen sink though, apparently. Weird.
To top it all off the Avenger comes equipped with no less than six driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport are a home from home in pretty much anything these days, but Snow, Mud and Sand modes - combined with useful approach and departure angles, and a Hill Descent Control system - should provide some decent off-road capability too.
The full range will hit the configurator in June, we’re told, at which point various types of Avenger will be doing battle with one another for your attention. You could even call it an Avengers Civil War…
