The Pininfarina Battista Reversario is a gorgeous revival of the Anniversario

Just two will ever be commissioned, blending a unique grey, white and blue colour scheme to represent ‘balance’

Published: 11 Apr 2024

Remember when Pininfarina revealed its Battista ‘Anniversario’ edition back in 2020 to commemorate its 90th anniversary and said just five would be made? Well, it has now commissioned two more examples that are inspired by the ‘concept of balance’, called the ‘Reversario’.

By that, it seemingly refers to the equal use of grey (Grigio Antonelliano) and white (Bianco Sestriere) across the upper and lower sections of the cars. You’ll also spot the striking Iconica Blu stripes along different sections of the Italian EV, such as the brake calipers and the recesses of the rear bumper.

The theme continues inside, where the Pilota seats are coated in pure white Alcantara leather before the same shade of blue envelopes the seat belts and inner sections of the seat gaps. Though there does seem to be more black than white or blue, so maybe they forgot about the ‘concept of balance’ when decorating the cabin.

Dave Amantea, chief design officer at Pininfarina, said: “Reversario was the ultimate commission. Taking inspiration from the original Anniversario, it is a reflection in every aspect, using a timeless combination of colours to create an opposite that works alone and together. This is a vehicle that is the greatest expression of our ‘Dream Cars. Made Real.’ philosophy to date.”

Colour scheme waffle aside, the all-wheel drive Battista is a very serious hypercar with its quad electric motors resulting in a ridiculous 1,873bhp and 1,726lb ft of torque. That means 0-62mph in 1.73s, which would likely require a trip to the doctor to put all your internal organs back in place. Or maybe just half of your organs, since this is all about balance and that.
