This modified Mustang Mach-E GT is Shelby’s first EV
Shelby American mods the Mach-E, and it’s only for the European market
It’s not often that we get access to Shelby American products here in Europe. In fact, we’re pretty much completely excluded from their brilliantly bonkers Mustangs and pickup trucks. But in a real turn up for the books, its latest creation will only be available in Europe.
That’s because this is the Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT. Yep, it’s an all-electric Shelby.
“Carroll Shelby actively pursued opportunities to expand worldwide, and that philosophy continues to drive us today,” says Shelby American boss Joe Conway. “As a visionary, Carroll was an early proponent of exotic materials and the integration of advanced technologies, including electrification.”
So, to honour the 100th anniversary of Carroll Shelby’s birth, just 100 examples of this bodykitted EV will be built. Shelby actually previewed it back in November 2021, and it says that because the reaction was so positive it decided to bring the thing to Europe.
The full package will include a carbon fibre bonnet and front splitter, lightweight wheels and a new suspension setup that’s lower than standard. There’s also many go-faster stripes, as well as carbon fibre mirror caps and lots of Shelby badging. No more power over the standard 480bhp Mach-E GT, though.
Prices will start from €24,900, and current Mach-E GT owners can have the setup retrofitted to their cars. Thoughts, folks?
