Mercedes has almost doubled the eVito van’s range to 298 miles

With a 90kWh battery now available in the panel van version, this might now be the longest-range electric van on sale

Published: 27 Mar 2025

Mercedes will now offer its eVito panel van with a 90kWh battery, which has almost doubled its claimed range to a total of 298 miles. That puts it comfortably ahead of similarly sized competitors competitors such as the Ford E-Transit Custom (204 miles), the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric (219 miles) and even the Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo (276 miles).

Heck, it even trumps most of its bigger commercial rivals like the Renault Master E-Tech with its 285 miles of range, and the Ford E-Transit with 249 miles. Yep, the eVito has had one hell of a statistical glow up. In fact, as far as we know this will now be the rangiest electric van on sale in Europe.

Previously the panel van version of the eVito had only been available with a smaller 60kWh battery and 163 miles of range, and we're told that will still be on offer should you so wish. The 90kWh version will get you and your deliveries a whole lot further though, and you might even get there quicker with a more powerful 201bhp electric motor. That's compared to the 114bhp you get if you spec the smaller battery.

Regardless of which you choose, the eVito will be supplied with an 11 kW on-board AC charger for leisurely home top-ups. Alternatively, a 10-80 per cent boost at a DC rapid charger should take 40 minutes, with speeds of up to 110kW.

Two body lengths are available: A2 (5,140mm) and A3 (5,390mm), and the MBUX 'multimedia hub' is standard fit meaning you get both a 10.25in central infotainment screen and a 5.5in digital dial cluster.

There’s a bunch of active safety systems incorporated right from the entry level versions too, plus a reversing camera to stop you from backing up into innocent recycling bins.

Prices for the 90kWh version will start at just over €46,000 in Germany. Reckon this could be the van that allows you to make the switch to an EV?
