The Little Car Company’s mini-Ferrari configurator is better than the ones for most real cars
Maker of teeny cars launches a new configurator with many options. Our working day is ruined
Unless Ferrari has secretly built a rocketship EV without telling us, Top Gear still holds the electric lap record at Fiorano. Yep, just last year we set a time of 2m 26.9s in The Little Car Company’s dinky Ferrari Testa Rossa J – the officially-licensed, 75 per cent scale model of a 250 Testa Rossa.
And now there’s good news, because we can all dream of owning our own version of this teeny record setter. We say this because The Little Car Company has just launched a Testa Rossa J configurator, and it is absolutely excellent.
There’s a whole lot of personalisation available for the baby Ferrari, which you’d hope given that it costs around £100,000. Yeah, that’s why we said ‘dream of owning’. Anyway, you start by choosing betweeen the standard Testa Rossa J and the Pacco Gara (race pack) version. The latter ups power from 16bhp to a hefty 19bhp, while also adding adjustable dampers, better brakes, a rollhoop, Sabelt racing harnesses and period-correct spotlights.
You can then select your livery, which can either be custom or based on a classic Ferrari racing look. The configurator also lets you add a race number, choose a colour for the leather interior and tick the box for the Borrani wire wheel upgrade (although beware because they are an £8,000 extra).
The best bit though? Once you’ve finished with your creation, you can scan a little QR code with your phone and use augmented reality to pop the Testa Rossa J right into your living room. Cute!
