Here’s your first look at the Lucid Gravity, a Model X-rivalling performance SUV
Lucid reckons it’ll have more range than any other EV on sale… apart from its own Air
This is the Lucid Gravity, a new electric performance SUV set to land at some point early in 2023.
And its maker reckons this new car will ‘set new benchmarks’ in the world of luxury, powerful electric SUVs. Anyone familiar with Lucid’s work – like the Air Sapphire saloon capable of 0-60mph in 1.89s – can confirm it knows a thing or two about benchmarks.
Though, we don’t quite yet know what they’ll be. At this stage Lucid has only confirmed the name, that it’ll have “supercar performance”, flexible two- and three-row seating for five, six or even seven adult humans, and promise “more range than any other EV on the market – other than its stablemate, Lucid Air”. (FYI that car recently got a bump in range too, with the entry level ‘Pure’ packing 410 miles of range, right up to 516 miles for the ‘Grand Touring’ model.)
As befits a large, luxury electric car, the Lucid Gravity will offer up a high-resolution ‘Glass Cockpit’ display powered by Lucid’s own interface.
“It is both a supercar in disguise and an SUV with flexible passenger and cargo space that seems impossibly big relative to the exterior size of the vehicle,” explains Lucid’s senior design boss Derek Jenkins. “And it does this all with Lucid’s distinctive post-luxury design, inspired by California.”
More as we have it.
