Check out the all-electric Vanderhall Navarro

American three-wheeler builders branch out into EV off-roaders

Published: 17 Feb 2021

Remember Vanderhall – makers of those wild, three-wheeled, hand-built autocycles in the US? Well, they’re branching out to four wheels…

More specifically, they’re branching out with this – the Navarro off-road side by side. Wicked looking thing, isn’t it? Check out the Senna-style doors. Vanderhall says it’s inspired by trophy truck racing, and the Navarro features long-travel suspension, retro headlights with yellow fogs and proper off-road tyres.

It’ll be based on Vanderhall’s existing ‘Matrix’ platform and will apparently be a full EV. Wow, that’s one way to make them cool. The Utah-based firm has previous with electric power of course – its Edison 2 is a 138bhp, 635kg three-wheeler that features twin electric motors and a 28.8kWh battery for around 200 miles of range.

Whether the exact same powertrain will make its way into the Navarro, we’re yet to find out. We do know that Vanderhall is doubling the size of its factory though, and that this thing should be available either later this year or in 2022.

Thoughts, Internet?
