Mini reveals the Clubman Scrambler
Chunky-tyred Mini apes R NINET bike, celebrates 50 years of BMW in Italy
This is the Mini Clubman ALL4 Scrambler – an all-wheel drive Clubman concept which draws inspiration from the rather lovely R NINET Scrambler motorcycle. Like that artsy i8 from a few weeks back, it exists to celebrate the 50th anniversary of BMW in Italy.
From what we’ve been able to cobble together from a translated all-Italian press release, differences between this and the standard Clubman are fairly limited. There’s the colour, which is the same as you’ll find on the recently-revealed 30 Jahre M3, rally-style spotlights and a roof rack. The Mini’s ride-height has also been raised, and properly chunky tyres fitted. Inside, everything has been re-trimmed in tan leather and Alcantara.
From the looks of things, the Scrambler is based on the Clubman Cooper S, which is now available with AWD. Propulsion comes from a 2.0-litre turbo four and 189bhp.
The Scrambler will be shown this week at the ‘Salone dell’Auto Parco Valentino 2016.
