The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 is gorgeous

Racing version of 2015 concept is coming to GT Sport in May

Published: 19 Mar 2020

Hands up – who remembers the Mazda RX-Vision Concept? First revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show way back in 2015, it’s a two-door, two-seat sports car very much in the mould of the old RX-7. Oh, and it’s mind-bendingly gorgeous. One of the best-looking concept cars of the last decade, if you ask us.

Last we heard of the RX-Vision it was on track to make production sometime in 2020, Mazda’s centenary. And while there is quite a lot of this year left, the fact we’ve heard not a whisper from Mazda about it since 2016 means it may never happen. This makes us sad.

Console yourselves, then, with this – the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept, which will be playable in Gran Turismo Sport on the Playstation 4 from May.

Now adding spoilers and skirts to such a pure design was a risk, but Mazda and the GT lot have pulled it off. What a lovely-looking thing the GT3-spec RX-Vision is. With its swollen bodywork, massive spoiler and vented bonnet, it looks very much ready to race.

The fictional specs are these: 1,250kg, 48:52 weight distribution and 562bhp.

Coming to your living room on 25 May.
